iThe department of Pharmacy Services is located on the main floor of the hospital. The mission of the Pharmacy Service is to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services which will assist in providing quality care to all patients.
The department of Pharmacy Services maintains current valid licenses and permits necessary to operate under West Virginia and federal law. The Pharmacy is licensed by the West Virginia Board of Pharmacy as well as the United States Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The Department of Pharmacy Services primarily serves the inpatient population of the hospital. The significant population served includes neonatal/infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. The Department of Pharmacy Services also provides pharmaceutical services to ancillary departments.
In the process of providing pharmaceutical care to the patient, the pharmacist relies on the input of other members of the hospital's patient care team. Without this valued input, the pharmacist would be unable provide appropriate pharmaceutical therapy on a timely basis.
